15 years of growth. Still no home of our own.
For over 15 years Parkside Community Fellowship has grown from a small Sabbath gathering into a vibrant, diverse congregation serving Reading and beyond. We are now a church plant in our own right, yet we still meet each week in rented space. A permanent home will let us keep serving, only better.
A church plant of Reading Central SDA Church for over 15 years, Parkside Community Fellowship has grown from a small Sabbath gathering into a vibrant, diverse congregation serving Reading and beyond. Two years ago we became a full church plant in our own right. Even so, we still meet every week in space rented from Park Reformed Church.
A permanent home will let us keep doing what we have always done, only better. Our award winning Gospel choir, our Health Expo in the park, our youth ministries and our community outreach all deserve a base. This fund will give us one.
What we do
A community already serving Reading.
RCOMGOS, the BBC award winning Reading Community Gospel Choir, was born from Parkside.
Free community wellness checks at Palmer Park every summer, reaching hundreds of people.
Men, women, youth, children, music, drama, Jollof Ministries, Parabole and more.
Why this matters
A home means stability. Stability means deeper community.
Renting space means we plan around someone else’s schedule. We pack up after every service. We cannot host community events when the building is in use, and we cannot open the doors during the week.
A permanent home changes that. Children’s after school programmes, mid week prayer, a community kitchen that serves people in need, and a space where the Gospel choir can rehearse without watching the clock. A building that says Parkside is here, and we are staying.
